Vocal Engineering Technologies Limited (VET) was founded by Professor Mong Mei Ling and her students. The team has a long history of research in speech-related artificial intelligence technology and focuses on applications related to speech reconstruction. VET develops speech reconstruction technology to convert unclear pronunciation into synthesized clear pronunciation. Speech reconstruction can be used to (a) reconstruct the unclear speech of patients into clear speech so that their caregivers can understand their requests, thereby providing better care; (b) reconstruct heavy-accented speech into local-accented speech to facilitate voice communication in call centers, thereby enhancing customer experience.
