Hong Kong Society of Community Dental Services and Special Care Dentistry Limited

The Hong Kong Special Care Dentistry Association Limited was formed in 2013 to address the need for dental care for individuals with special needs. The association is composed of dental practitioners, social workers, business-persons, patients’ parents and those who care about special care dentistry. The mission is to promote and build a community with a concern about special care dentistry for people with special needs. The association is a national member of the International Association for Disabilities and Oral Health. Partners include the Loving Smiles Foundation Limited. The association works with the Hong Kong Dental Association and the Evangel Hospital (EH) on pilot projects like the Loving Smiles Service (LSS), which provided dental services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The scope has gradually expanded to include persons with mental health problems and physical disabilities.
