CARWOOD (formerly known as Carwood & Company) was established in 1979. Its main business is to import original parts made in Europe and supply them to several dedicated public transport operators in Hong Kong, such as Hong Kong Yau Ma Tei Ferry (the predecessor of Hong Kong Ferry), Kowloon Bus (KMB), China Motor Bus (the predecessor of Citybus), etc. The company was registered and established as a limited company in 1996 and renamed Carwood (Hong Kong) Limited, which is still a family-run business. In 1997, due to the need for the construction of a new international airport in Hong Kong, BDS brand (Germany) magnetic drills were introduced into Hong Kong and subsequently promoted to China. BDS has become the most well-known German magnetic drill brand in the Chinese market, especially in the shipbuilding industry, due to its excellent product quality, reliability and high cost-effectiveness. In 2013, after a good meeting with Elektrowerkzeuge GmbH Eibenstock in Germany, CARWOOD was designated as the representative and approved importer of "EIBENSTOCK" electric drills in China and Hong Kong. Over the years, EE electric drills and motors have gained a good reputation in China for their high output power, high torque, versatility and robust product design. From 2017 to 2018, CARWOOD introduced LED car lights from two factories in Poland (WAS sp. z.o.o. and HORPOL J.I.A.T. Horeczy Sp.J.). With their modern design, high quality, durability and fast delivery, their new LED lights quickly established a good reputation and became the most popular LED car lights in the field of Hong Kong container trailers and special trucks. Today, CARWOOD continues to expand its product range, including high-quality hardware and electrical products made in China, and actively expands its business scope globally.
